About The Position

The Facility Mechanic involves performing authorized preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring power systems, HVAC, utilities, alarms, sanitation, and facility grounds, as well as providing emergency facility response. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years in facilities management, HVAC systems, power generation, utilities, controls, or industrial maintenance.
  • Proven skills in HVAC systems, power generation, generators, controls, preventive maintenance, alarms, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation practices and ability to coordinate with host installations and emergency support teams.
  • A valid passport is required, along with completed overseas medical and dental clearance.
  • Top Secret/ SCI Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable credentials in HVAC/EPA 608, electrical, generator, controls, OSHA compliance, confined-space, lockout/tagout, and first-aid certifications preferred or required as needed by tasks assigned.
  • Experience in remote, mission-critical environments requiring adaptability and resourcefulness.
  • Completion of a technical/trade school program specializing in HVAC, electrical, power generation, controls, or industrial maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct authorized preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on facility systems, including power generation, HVAC, utility infrastructure, alarms, sanitation, and building conditions.
  • Continuously monitor equipment performance and report any discrepancies or service needs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facilities-critical systems under the applicable Facility Mechanic classification.
  • Collaborate with host installations, landlords, and other supporting agencies for routine and emergency facility needs.
  • Coordinate and respond to fire, environmental, and emergency scenarios, ensuring real property and mission support is secure.
  • Support the facility’s emergency readiness and recovery plans, prioritizing safety and operational continuity.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment and facilities, documenting findings, deficiencies, maintenance tasks, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure all work complies with safety, security, and mission-driven requirements.
  • Cross-train with another Facility Mechanic within the same labor classification to ensure operational coverage for 24/7 facility support.
  • Ensure compliance with the two-person pool/coverage requirement within the scope of applicable licenses and boundaries.
  • Adhere to safety standards, including OSHA regulations, confined-space, lockout/tagout procedures, and first-aid protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and access requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
