This position is classified as safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive employee, you are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is included in the testing panel. Possession of a medical marijuana card does not exempt an employee from testing requirements or disciplinary action for a positive result. Under general supervision of the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director, this position performs administrative, supervisory and professional duties related to facility operations at the Yukon Community Center and the Jackie Cooper Gymnasium. This position also is responsible for development, planning and implementation of community based recreational programming at various Parks and Recreation sites. This position provides supervision of both full-time and part-time employees and is responsible for their job performance on a regular basis. This includes creating and monitoring schedules, providing professional development opportunities and trainings, and enforcing policies and procedures. Employee is responsible for the coordination of facility operations to include building maintenance, custodial services, program registrations and facility scheduling. Employee will maintain accurate financial records and will follow proper money management procedures and cash handling processes. Other tasks include attending evening/weekend special events and programs and participating in community activities, working with civic groups, school groups and school administrators. Must possess very good communication skills, great people skills and be willing to take direction. The successful candidate will possess knowledge, skills and abilities, including principles and techniques of planning, administering, and coordinating a variety of recreational programs, activities and effective programming suitable for all ages. Needed skills include the ability to prepare and maintain reports, develop budgets, project cost estimates and write specifications for various equipment and supplies utilized within programs.
