This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting problems, completing a variety of repairs, and taking ownership of their work. The technician will perform preventative maintenance and repairs involving mechanical equipment, electrical components, plumbing, HVAC, greenhouse and production systems, and grounds equipment. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently while collaborating with the Facilities team, equipment manufacturers, and outside technical resources on larger or specialized repairs. All work must be completed within the employee's training and authorization and in accordance with applicable safety requirements, codes, and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple maintenance disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned work, and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and demonstrated experience in at least one additional maintenance discipline, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, or automated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment diagrams, schematics, and basic blueprints.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards, follow required procedures, and communicate concerns effectively.
  • Ability to use a smartphone or tablet to access work orders and enter information in CMMS and other company systems.
  • Willingness to learn and expand technical skills as facility and equipment needs evolve.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Pesticide and Worker Protection Standard handler certification; training may be provided if needed.
  • Experience in greenhouse, agricultural, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, irrigation systems, automated equipment, or basic boiler support.
  • Three or more years of maintenance or related experience preferred.
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in a maintenance-related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one specialty area, such as electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing, strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment, including mechanical systems, electrical components, plumbing, HVAC, greenhouse systems, and production equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and complete safe, effective repairs with limited supervision.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns, including occasional after-hours or emergency support when required.
  • Identify work that can be safely completed in-house and coordinate with leadership when licensed or specialized outside support is needed.
  • Safely operate and perform basic maintenance on forklifts, scissor lifts, skid steers, track loaders, groundskeeping equipment, and related attachments.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, identify recurring failures, and recommend corrective measures or longer-term solutions.
  • Accurately document completed work, labor hours, materials used, and equipment condition in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain organized workspaces, tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Perform groundskeeping and seasonal property-maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, spraying, snow removal, and general upkeep.
  • Assist with facility improvements, equipment moves, setup work, larger repairs, and other Facilities team projects as needed.
