About The Position

The Facility & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, safety, and general upkeep of the company’s facility, equipment, and building systems. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and other facility-related tasks to support safe and reliable operations. This position may be filled at either the Technician I or Technician II level based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. Level I technicians perform routine maintenance with guidance, while Level II technicians independently diagnose and complete more complex maintenance work. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements.

Requirements

  • Safety-focused mindset and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with production, maintenance, and management.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a maintenance/work order system and familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, recognizing when additional assistance is required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and team orientation with an eagerness to learn new skills and concepts.
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to read basic measurements and understand simple mechanical drawings, manuals, and instructions.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving record requirements, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems within the individual's training and qualifications.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and identify equipment or facility problems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, utilities, and facility areas.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, setup, and removal of equipment and facility components.
  • Perform basic fabrication, assembly, drilling, fastening, painting, and other general maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintain shop, maintenance areas, tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized and safe condition.
  • Support facility cleanliness, waste handling, snow removal, grounds maintenance, and other general facility activities as assigned.
  • Assist with maintaining compressed air, water, electrical, lighting, and other utility systems.
  • Assist outside contractors and service providers with facility and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and work-order documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment and maintenance tools.
  • Communicate equipment issues, safety concerns, and facility deficiencies to the appropriate supervisor(s).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
