About The Position

Clean Harbors located in Bartow, FL is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to add to the team. The Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repairs on equipment throughout the facility. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and self-directed Facility Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our industrial treatment, storage, and disposal facility. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience with hands-on knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping systems, pumps, tanks, heavy equipment, and process machinery. This role is responsible for maintaining critical facility infrastructure, including a tank farm, drum shredding equipment, processing systems, and other industrial assets. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can identify maintenance needs, troubleshoot issues, prioritize work, and complete tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance. Shift: 1st 6am-230pm (Mon-Fri)

Requirements

1+ years millwright type experience preferred
1+ year maintenance experience preferred or two years education
Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: preventative maintenance, installations, welding, electrical, pipefitting
Demonstrated education or welding experience
Hydraulics systems experience
Pumps experience, and centrifugal and diaphragm pumps an asset!
Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects
Must be able to lift to 50lbs
Clean and valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and infrastructure.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery, pumps, motors, conveyors, shredders, compressors, and associated equipment.
Maintain and repair piping systems, valves, fittings, flanges, pumps, and transfer systems.
Support operations and maintenance activities within the facility tank farm, including tank-related equipment, transfer lines, and containment systems.
Troubleshoot and repair drum shredder systems and associated mechanical components.
Conduct inspections of mechanical systems to identify wear, leaks, deficiencies, or potential failures.
Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed.
Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, forklifts, skid steers, and other industrial mobile equipment.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Assist with facility improvement projects, equipment installations, and modifications.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
Coordinate with operations personnel to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to facility operations.
Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company safety policies, environmental regulations, and OSHA requirements.
Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout maintenance areas and equipment locations.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations as required.
Support regulatory inspections and audits related to maintenance activities.
