About The Position

Americold is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician I to perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the warehouse. This role involves battery and charger maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. The technician will facilitate and manage the battery changing process, operate warehouse equipment, and ensure machinery and safety equipment are maintained and compliant with OSHA standards. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• Mathematical calculation and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills including email, internet searches, and data entry.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Participation in HAZMAT responder training.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair batteries and chargers in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Facilitate and manage the battery changing process within the warehouse.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and battery chargers as needed.
• Clean and lubricate machinery parts to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain tools and machinery in good working condition.
• Test safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Participate in HAZMAT responder training as required.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.
