About The Position

Facility Maintenance Technician assists in maintenance and repair in areas of electrical, structure buildup and teardown, and general building maintenance at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • A High School Diploma and a minimum of 1-2 years of schooling or related experience or training is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multiple disciplines preferred, including but not limited to Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Ice Technician, Carpentry/Painting, Mechanical Trades (doors, locks, alarm systems, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • May assist in leading maintenance and repair projects at the Charlotte Convention Center
  • Works with team to ensure all setup is done to meet client and department expectations.
  • Teardown shows and cleans up areas for next scheduled event.
  • Maintains all equipment in facility that is part of the heating and cooling systems.
  • Ensures proper light set up prior to all events.
  • Coordinates with vendors on facility floor to ensure accuracy of detailed floor plans.
  • Assist Facility Maintenance team members with painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, etc.
  • On-call one week per month, as needed, to support event operations or facility needs.
  • May perform other duties as required.
