About The Position

rms Company provides contract manufacturing of high-quality, tight-tolerance medical implants, components and sub-assemblies using cutting-edge technology. rms is part of the Cretex Medical family of companies. Learn more at www.rmsmachining.com and www.cretexmedical.com. The Facilities Maintenance Tech is responsible for building and ground repairs and minor equipment installation and repairs. Primary location will be in Anoka, MN, however some travel between our Anoka and Coon Rapids facilities will be required.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Intermittent exposure to safe levels of cleaning solutions, solvents, and solder (lead) fumes
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Dexterity and hand and eye coordination
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to collaborate and assist team members, provide input to the area lead, and attend and participate in meetings
  • Ability to cross train in other areas of production when required
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform work relating to repair of buildings and grounds
  • Recommend improvements and changes for increased quality or efficiency
  • Perform preventative maintenance per schedule
  • Back up the janitor role
  • Work independently on projects of moderate complexity
  • Enters production information into the ERP system on a timely basis
  • Accurately records and reports hours worked
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
  • Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
  • Participate in required company meetings
  • Maintain an organized work area (5S)
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
