About The Position

KMT Waterjet, Inc., a Shape Technologies Group Company, is seeking a hands-on Facility Maintenance Support Technician to support maintenance operations and help keep its manufacturing facility safe, clean, organized, and operational. The role includes preventative maintenance of powered industrial equipment, management of facility fluids and supplies, waste handling, facility cleanup, grounds upkeep, and general maintenance activities. The technician supports maintenance and production teams throughout the plant and maintains accurate maintenance records and supply inventories. The position is regularly scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Occasional overtime, early mornings, evenings, or weekend work may be required to respond to equipment failures, facility issues, weather-related events, or maintenance projects. Schedule flexibility may be needed to support operational needs. The work involves standing for extended periods, lifting and moving items weighing up to 50+ pounds, and physical tasks including pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing, and working at heights. The role may involve industrial aerial lifts and powered equipment, and work in both hot and cold environments. The facility is climate-controlled.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance-related work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
Ability to make sound decisions and respond quickly to maintenance needs.
Commitment to safety and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours per shift), lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50+ pounds, and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing, and working at heights.
Ability to work in hot and cold environments and potentially use industrial aerial lifts and powered equipment.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related experience.
Experience operating or working around powered industrial equipment.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, and experience with maintenance software.
Experience with forklifts, aerial lifts, or other powered industrial equipment.
Experience working with industrial fluids, maintenance supplies, and general facility operations.

Responsibilities

Conduct preventative maintenance on forklifts, aerial lifts, box trucks, facility vehicles, and other powered industrial equipment.
Assist with powered industrial lift training and related safety initiatives.
Order, maintain, and stock oils, lubricants, chemicals, and maintenance supplies.
Manage plant scrap metal, metal chips, and general waste disposal processes.
Support wastewater and hazardous waste handling according to company procedures.
Assist with facility cleanup, organization, and housekeeping.
Support snow removal, weather-related cleanup, and facility grounds maintenance.
Assist maintenance personnel with facility repairs and general maintenance projects.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and supply inventories.
Follow company safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
