About The Position

This includes general interior and exterior cleaning and maintenance, as well as assistance with set up and breakdown for special events, and the maintenance and operation of specialized equipment for facilities. Job Scope No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic first aid, AED and CPR certification required within three (3) months of date of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience or skills in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans all floors at assigned facilities, including corridors, walkways, and offices, through sweeping, mopping, or picking up debris.
• Operates floor buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, other cleaning equipment and ice maintenance equipment, including, but not limited to, the Sport Ice machine.
• Organizes cleaning areas, storage rooms, and supply rooms.
• Performs minor semi‐skilled interior building maintenance such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other unskilled and semi‐skilled trades work.
• Empties trash, changes lights, replenishes soap and paper dispensers.
• Treats wood with proper cleaning materials, including hardwood floors.
• Performs set‐up and take-down of rooms for classes, special events, and activities.
• Cleans restrooms on assigned schedule.
• Provide light landscape and outdoor area maintenance at assigned facilities.
• Inspects and maintains assigned custodial equipment and small tools for proper operating condition.
• Locks and unlocks facilities as needed.
• Maintains exterior perimeter of the facilities and parking lot by keeping the walk clean and free from snow, debris, de‐weeding flower beds, picking up trash, and other general maintenance tasks.
• Ensures the enforcement of park and recreation rules and regulations.
• Attends staff meetings and other meetings as required.
• Serves as a staff member for special events as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
