About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure within a vehicle logistics operation. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports safe and efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities, and hands-on maintenance experience. Must be open to overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, tools, and operational systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural issues.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions to minimize operational downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility equipment and identify potential safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and general repairs as needed.
  • Assist with facility modifications, installations, and improvement projects.
  • Support emergency repairs and respond quickly to operational disruptions.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities and maintain accurate service records.
  • Follow established maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Perform inspections and document findings related to equipment conditions.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
  • Provide maintenance support to vehicle processing operations to ensure production objectives are achieved.
  • Work closely with Operations, Safety, and Management teams to resolve facility-related issues.
  • Prioritize repairs based on operational impact and business needs.
  • Support startup, shutdown, and relocation activities involving equipment and facility assets.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and contractor support when required.
  • Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment failures, and potential risks immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
