About The Position

This is a hands-on facility maintenance technician position, not an administrative role. The Building/Facility Maintenance person helps ensure patients are in a safe and comfortable environment. The role involves maintaining all aspects of the property, including building, grounds, and equipment needs. This may include fixing/maintaining kitchen & office equipment, addressing general plumbing and minor electrical repairs, or assessing the needs of the ventilation system. This is an in-house building or facilities maintenance position where the goal is to address necessary repairs internally rather than calling an external vendor. The work is meaningful, contributing to the well-being of residents in a healthcare center serving mental health patients.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with minor Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC repair and servicing needs.
Familiarity with and ability to repair equipment, such as PTAC units, and Fire Alarms (systems).
Excellent communication skills, written & verbal, to interact with employees and residents.
Comfortable working near/around medical patients.
Valid driver's license, good driving record and vehicle for work errands.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or required to submit an exemption.

Experienced with IDPH survey requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintain all aspects of the property including building, grounds and equipment needs.

Conduct minor Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC repair and servicing needs.
Ensure all maintenance activities in a facility are appropriately carried out.
Keep a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted.
Comply with all safety norms and regulations set by IDPH and the industry.
