About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Group Leader plays a key role in leading the day-to-day activities of the Facility Maintenance team to ensure building systems, utilities, and infrastructure remain safe, reliable, and operating efficiently. In this role, you will provide leadership and support to Facility Maintenance Technicians through Assistant Group Leaders (AGLs), helping prioritize work, troubleshoot issues, and keep the team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will serve as the primary backup to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, coordinating maintenance activities, supporting emergency repairs, managing work orders through the CMMS, and partnering with other departments to support plant operations and minimize downtime. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to developing team members while fostering a positive, safety-first culture.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent required
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
  • Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and facility systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities
  • Ability to work at heights and wear required personal protective equipment
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Facility Maintenance Technicians through Assistant Group Leaders (AGLs)
  • Direct daily maintenance activities to ensure facility reliability and operational support
  • Promote and enforce plant safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and other safety programs
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility systems including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and plumbing equipment
  • Lead response and resolution efforts for facility-related downtime and infrastructure issues
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities and reliability initiatives
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of HVAC, utility, compressed air, water, and other facility systems
  • Utilize CMMS systems to manage work orders, maintenance records, and performance tracking
  • Coordinate parts, tools, and resources needed for repairs and projects
  • Coach, mentor, and support employee training and development
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support plant operations and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support facility improvement and reliability projects
  • Ensure effective communication between shifts, departments, and leadership teams
  • Serve as backup to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor as needed
  • Perform additional maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned
