About The Position

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facility Maintenance, Grounds & Housekeeping Lead ensures facilities and fleet are well-cared for, safe, and adequate to support business operations. This role involves carrying out inspections of facilities, grounds, and fleet to identify and resolve issues. Responsibilities include completing minor and general repairs (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, patching walls, painting, hanging shelves, anchoring furniture), maintaining relationships with contractors and service providers, providing maintenance logs, and reporting on daily activities. The lead will also serve as a point of contact for housekeeping and grounds staff, ensuring both campuses are kept in top condition. Additionally, the role requires completing scheduled periodic maintenance for the fleet, ensuring vehicles are clean, and adhering to health and safety policies, including compliance with O.S.H.A., A.D.A., HAZ-MAT, playground equipment safety, Childcare licensure, Medicaid programs (EIDT, CARF), and fire codes. The position also requires completing annual preventive maintenance and relevant continuing professional education.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed to drive in the State of Arkansas
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or vocational/ trade school completion
  • One year experience in a maintenance, grounds, housekeeping role or quality assurance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills which includes a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License, current auto liability insurance and registration, a clean driving record, and physical ability to drive to local locations (for ACCESS drivers)

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
  • Complete minor repairs and inspections of equipment and electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other systems at both facilities
  • Complete general repairs such as patching walls, painting, hanging shelves, anchoring/securing book shelves or other furniture, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Provide maintenance logs and report on daily activities
  • Maintain assignment as maintenance worker
  • Complete annual preventive maintenance as scheduled for both campuses
  • Carry out daily inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
  • Point of contact for housekeeping staff as needed to ensure facilities at both campuses are kept in top condition to support business operation
  • Maintain assignment as housekeeping worker
  • Carry out inspections of grounds to identify and resolve issues
  • Assist grounds staff as needed to ensure grounds at both campuses are kept in top condition to support business operation
  • Maintain assignment as grounds worker
  • Carry out inspections of the fleet to identify and resolve issues
  • Complete scheduled periodic maintenance
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean inside and out
  • Follow health and safety policies
  • Ensure compliance with O.S.H.A., A.D.A., HAZ-MAT, playground equipment safety, Childcare licensure or other Medicaid programs such as EIDT, CARF, fire code, etc.
  • Completes relevant and approved continuing professional education each year as required to maintain professional standards
  • May perform other related or non-related duties, as assigned
