About The Position

The Facility Maintenance & EHS Manager plans and supervises the maintenance services of the facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems to ensure they are functioning and operating properly. Develops and implements all the environmental, health and safety programs in the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or trade education is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous maintenance leadership and/or facilities management experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Working knowledge of equipment, machinery, building systems, and facility maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, strong initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in completing work assignments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build positive working relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including employee coaching, mentoring, delegation, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to actively listen, motivate employees, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple facilities, priorities, and projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and train Maintenance and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) personnel.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and oversee the work of outside contractors and subcontractors, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, machinery, facility repairs, maintenance activities, and related expenses.
  • Minimize equipment and machinery downtime through effective maintenance planning and timely repairs to support production and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the project manager for all capital improvement projects, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, milestone tracking, and successful project completion.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all facilities, equipment, and machinery.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to verify the quality, completeness, and effectiveness of maintenance and repair work.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security systems, machinery, and the interior and exterior of company buildings and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations and company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations by developing, updating, and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs. Monitor compliance and provide follow-up training as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and submit environmental, health, and safety reports required by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and submit purchasing requests for approval by Executive Management and ensure all purchased equipment, materials, and supplies are properly received, documented, and recorded for inventory and asset tracking.
  • Collaborate with department managers to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational objectives.
  • Respond promptly to facility emergencies and coordinate corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance facility reliability, operational efficiency, workplace safety, and cost effectiveness.
