About The Position

Heeter Printing is seeking a junior-level candidate or apprentice interested in developing the technical and mechanical skills needed to support machinery and facilities in a busy custom manufacturing operation. The role helps keep plant and facility systems operating efficiently and provides on-the-job training to build capability in machinery maintenance and repair. The employee must occasionally travel between the company's facilities in Canonsburg and Duquesne, Pennsylvania, approximately four to six times per year.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude, supported by education or experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated work ethic and ability to take direction and apply learning independently.
• Ability to work effectively both in a group and individually while meeting internal customers' needs and communicating professionally.
• Ability to work proactively with a plan while remaining flexible and responsive during emergencies.
• Working knowledge of safe work practices and ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic proficiency with internet, Microsoft Office, inventory management software, and the company's PACE MIS system.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test, and to maintain a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support facility cleanliness by operating a floor sweeper and assisting with garbage, recycling, and general upkeep.
• Work with the Mechanical Lead and Safety Consultant on floor needs, including equipment movement, racking or skid movement, and other safety initiatives.
• Support inventory management and organization of equipment parts.
• Learn and assist with machinery maintenance, developing skills toward machinery repair.
• Assist with facility electrical and plumbing needs.
• Travel occasionally between the Canonsburg and Duquesne, Pennsylvania facilities.
