About The Position

Join the Mercy South Float Pool Team! This role utilizes the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process to provide patient care. The RN maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients, coordinating care in conjunction with other departments. They will maintain patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information, functioning within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. The Float Pool offers exposure to diverse units and patient populations, opportunities to sharpen assessment, communication, and teamwork skills, and a fast-paced, rewarding environment for flexible and compassionate nurses. Units may include Orthopedics, Med/Surg, Telemetry, Stepdown, ICU, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, Oncology, Neurology, and more.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of bedside RN experience
  • Current RN license in the state
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

  • BSN preferred

Responsibilities
