The Facility Educator will be responsible for understanding and applying OBRA Regulations and principles of adult learning. They will collaborate with department directors to orient and educate staff, ensuring all mandatory and regulatory education requirements are met. This role involves conducting competencies in nursing practices, particularly for medically complex patients, and regularly assessing educational needs to identify areas for improvement. The educator will assume responsibility for directing in-service educational programs to ensure compliance with Federal, OSHA, State, and JACHO Regulations, as well as corporate policy. This includes preparing, scheduling, and selecting instructional materials, equipment, and training aids to provide state-of-the-art programs, and ensuring classrooms are prepared for training. They will also recommend equipment and supply needs, assess staff learning needs, and work with the Corporate Education & Development department. Facilitation of training for electronic software and required certifications (e.g., Intravenous, CPR) is also a key responsibility, along with maintaining attendance and documentation. The educator will assist licensed/certified nursing personnel in obtaining in-service training to maintain their credentials and obtain certification as a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association. Additionally, they will coordinate the Employee Health Program and maintain employee records.
