The Facility Educator will be responsible for understanding and applying OBRA Regulations and principles of adult learning. They will collaborate with facility department directors to orient and educate staff, ensuring all mandatory and regulatory education requirements are met. This role involves conducting competencies in nursing practice, particularly with medically complex patients, and regularly assessing educational needs to identify areas for improvement. The Facility Educator assumes responsibility for directing in-service educational programs to comply with Federal, OSHA, State, JACHO Regulations, and corporate policy. They will ensure the integrity of educational programs by preparing, scheduling, and selecting instructional materials, equipment, and training aids. The position requires scheduling and communicating in-service training programs based on facility needs, ensuring necessary equipment and knowledgeable operators are available, and conducting regular staff meetings and education. Classroom preparation is also a responsibility, along with recommending equipment and supply needs to the administrator. The role involves assessing staff learning needs through observation and assessment, working with the Corporate Education & Development department, and facilitating training for electronic software programs and required certifications like Intravenous and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Maintaining attendance and documentation of in-services, assisting licensed/certified nursing personnel in obtaining training to maintain their credentials, obtaining certification as a CPR instructor, and coordinating the Employee Health Program are also key duties.
