About The Position

The Facility & Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall functionality of company facilities. This position performs and coordinates a variety of light maintenance, repair, and facility improvement projects while supervising the custodial team to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment. The supervisor serves as a hands-on leader who ensures that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facility maintenance, custodial supervision, or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic maintenance practices (carpentry, painting, minor repairs).
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, safety instructions, and work orders.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Experience managing small facility projects or coordinating vendors/contractors.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and facility compliance standards.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee basic facility upkeep, including minor carpentry, painting and repairs.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify and address maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete small repair or improvement projects as assigned.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of maintenance supplies.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety and operational standards.
  • Supervise custodial staff and oversee daily cleaning and sanitation of all facility areas.
  • Assign and review custodial work to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Train custodial team members on cleaning techniques, safety practices, and proper equipment use.
  • Monitor cleaning supply levels and reorder as necessary.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and custodial activities, including logs and inspection reports.
  • Assist with facility setup and breakdown for meetings, company events, and other activities.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Directly supervises custodial staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Coordinates with other departments and external contractors as needed.
