About The Position

Smith Farms North is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facility Cleaning Technician to maintain clean, sanitary, organized, and welcoming common areas throughout their facility. This hands-on role involves routine and deep cleaning of hallways, restrooms, the employee break room, and other approved rooms that do not contain plant material. The position also supports supply restocking and the removal of general trash and cardboard. The technician will follow established cleaning procedures, use supplies and equipment safely, and communicate facility or supply concerns to the Park Superintendent. This role specifically excludes the handling of vegetation and cannabis waste, which are managed by designated team members.

Requirements

  • Prior commercial cleaning, custodial, housekeeping, sanitation, or facilities experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to follow written cleaning procedures, chemical labels, safety instructions, and verbal direction.
  • Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and complete routine work without continuous supervision.
  • Dependable, punctual, and respectful of employees working throughout the facility.
  • Ability to recognize and report supply, maintenance, sanitation, or safety concerns.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning tools, vacuums, mops, step stools, and approved cleaning products.
  • Must be 21+.
  • Pass the required state background check.

Responsibilities

  • Remove dust from accessible surfaces on HVAC units, dehumidifiers, sprinkler pipes, and related overhead fixtures in hallways and approved rooms that do not contain plant material.
  • Sweep and mop floors in hallways and approved rooms that do not contain plant material.
  • Vacuum rugs and floor coverings throughout assigned areas.
  • Wipe and dust artwork, frames, and other surfaces in hallways and restrooms.
  • Maintain a consistent cleaning schedule and complete assigned work thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Deep clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, counters, fixtures, and other restroom surfaces.
  • Sweep and mop restroom floors using approved cleaning products and procedures.
  • Refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other restroom supplies as needed.
  • Empty restroom trash receptacles and replace liners.
  • Monitor restrooms for cleanliness, supply needs, plumbing concerns, or damage and report issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and fully stocked restrooms throughout the workweek.
  • Use cleaning tools and supplies in a manner that prevents cross-contamination between restrooms and other facility areas.
  • Clean and sanitize the sink, countertops, tables, and other shared surfaces in the employee break room.
  • Clean the coffee pot and microwave, including interior and exterior surfaces as appropriate.
  • Wipe and clean the exterior of the refrigerator.
  • Sweep and mop break room floors and remove crumbs, spills, and loose debris.
  • Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and maintain a clean and welcoming shared space in the break room.
  • Empty general trash cans throughout assigned facility areas and replace liners.
  • Collect loose garbage and cardboard and transport it safely to the appropriate dumpsters or recycling areas.
  • Break down cardboard when needed and keep disposal areas orderly.
  • Maintain cleaning carts, tools, and supplies in clean, organized, and designated storage areas.
  • Notify the supervisor when cleaning products, paper goods, liners, or other supplies need to be reordered.
  • Follow all facility access restrictions and clean only approved rooms that do not contain plant material unless specifically directed otherwise.
  • Do not handle or dispose of vegetation, cannabis, or regulated product waste; immediately notify the appropriate team member when such material is identified.
  • Follow product instructions, required PPE, and safe practices when using cleaning chemicals, ladders, step stools, and equipment.
  • Place appropriate warning signs around wet floors or active cleaning areas and promptly report safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Follow company sanitation, security, and compliance procedures at all times.
