About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Facility Attendant to join their team at the Fresh Start transitional housing program in Philadelphia, PA. This program provides 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and behavioral health issues. The Fresh Start program has over 150 beds across 12 locations in Philadelphia and partners with the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and Philadelphia's Office of Addiction Services. Self-pay housing options are also available.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• High School or GED preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Previous experience working with VA population preferred
• 18 years old minimum required
• Prior experience in residential or drug and alcohol treatment setting is preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' behavior to ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery.
• Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety, including all rooms.
• Write incident reports and report immediately to the Supervisor/Program Manager, following Merakey policy.
• Monitor residents taking prescribed medication, report any issues to the immediate supervisor, and follow Merakey incident report policy.
• Monitor assigned chores (if applicable) and ensure general inspections (GIs) are done properly.
• Complete assigned training within mandated time frames.
