About The Position

The Facility Associate III primarily works in the processing/production area of the facility, handling a variety of donated goods and/or on the sales floor stocking shelves and providing customer service. This role assists management in proper facility operation by performing assigned advanced tasks and providing leadership to assigned store personnel. A background check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and departmental and organizational standards.
  • Represent the company by providing excellent customer service.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of work performed by assigned employees in accordance with standards.
  • Train employees in a thorough, organized, and timely manner.
  • Assist Facility Managers, Assistant Managers, and Facility Leads in appraising employees.
  • Assist in the maintenance of facility records.
  • Responsible, as designated, for the facility's operation in the absence of Facility Management and Leads including but not limited to: directing the activities of facility personnel; ensuring that all sales transactions are rung and reported accurately; and ensuring that donated goods are processed appropriately.
  • Inspect, sort, grade, and/or assign prices or other actions needed to donated items.
  • Unload containers, sorting and grading items into appropriate bins by quality specifications.
  • Transport stock to and from workstations.
  • Transport items to and from the sales floor.
  • Place items on shelves, in floor fixtures or on racks.
  • Face shelves, racks, and/or floor fixtures according to display standards.
  • Remove old items from display and place in totes or carts.
  • Assist at cash register wrapping or bagging merchandise.
  • Provide carry-out service.
  • Prepare items for sale by hanging clothing, cleaning items as needed and/or bagging items that need to be kept together.
  • Tag, mark, and/or code items selected for sale according to designated prices and type of merchandise.
  • Tally amounts and/or prices of processed items.
  • Perform opening tasks, including cleaning glass cases, cleaning counters, straightening cash wrap (cashier work station), and stocking supplies for the cash wrap.
  • Perform register closing duties, including counting down register, and completing required cashier reconciliation.
  • Collect cash, check, or charge payments from customers and make change for cash.
  • Provide cash receipts to customers.
  • Pack customer purchase in bags or cartons.
  • Assist with customer service at adjacent workstations.
  • Remove clothes from dressing rooms and rehang them on racks.
  • Remove merchandise stock from sales floor to back room.
  • Answer telephone and provide announcements on paging system.
  • Perform other merchandise stocking duties.
  • Perform opening duties to work station.
  • Review donation area ensuring it is a clean and safe work area.
  • Accept donations from the public, transferring items to the appropriate container, tote, cart, or basket.
  • Assist in loading or unloading trucks, trailers, and waste receptacles.
  • Separate donations by type, not quality.
  • Identify and properly dispose of garbage.
  • Identify and process recyclable material.
  • Sweep and/or mop sales floor.
  • Clean windows and dust fixtures and shelves.
  • Clean and supply washrooms.
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins.
  • Police debris exterior to the building.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
