About The Position

We are an orthodontic lab located in Cumming, Georgia looking for a Facility and Preventive Maintenance Technician to fill a full-time position. The schedule is 11:30 am - 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with an initial training period from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, for approximately the first month. This role involves working on equipment and fixing things when they break, requiring good time management and problem-solving skills in a busy environment. The technician will support a large base of technicians through equipment repairs and maintenance across two buildings where orthodontic appliances are manufactured. The position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime, supporting production, and assisting with safety and process improvement projects. This position reports to the Facility/Preventive Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use mathematical processes to solve problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft 365 or CMMS.
  • Strong time management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time depending upon task being performed.
  • Ability to walk and carry parts, materials, etc. between departments.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., reach above head, push/pull, and do repetitive work with hands.
  • Ability to see details at close range.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment fixing equipment and maintaining the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate support of a large technician base.
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Complete all PM in the timeframes outlined while maintaining specified records, files, and logs.
  • Perform lockout/tag-out procedures as needed, according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production interruptions.
  • Manage disposal of hazardous waste as defined by work instructions.
  • Recognize, perform, and/or schedule maintenance needs for interior and exterior of building.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
  • Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and commissioning.
  • Understand and apply procedures and work instructions for areas of assignment.
  • Understand and follow requirements of the quality system procedure as defined in standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Follow all safety requirements while utilizing personal protective equipment as required according to task being performed.
  • Safeguard and protect confidentiality of company and patient information as defined by the company’s Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Understand how one’s performance can impact the success of the organization and product quality.
