About The Position

NKHS is seeking a hands-on Facilities Worker II to join their mission-driven organization. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving NKHS facilities across multiple locations, ensuring buildings are safe, functional, and welcoming. Responsibilities include general maintenance, repair, carpentry, painting, construction, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to maintenance requests efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of facilities maintenance, carpentry, construction, handyman, or related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of general maintenance, repair, carpentry, painting, and construction practices.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, installation instructions, and work orders.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, dependability, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance, repair, carpentry, painting, and construction projects at NKHS facilities.
  • Assess building maintenance needs and complete repairs while identifying larger projects requiring specialized contractors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of agency buildings, grounds, parking lots, and walkways.
  • Assist with office furniture assembly, equipment installation, and facility setup for meetings and special events.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and groundskeeping equipment.
  • Support environmental services functions as needed, including floor care, carpet cleaning, and general facility upkeep.
  • Work independently to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance requests across multiple agency locations.
