About The Position

This role is for a hands-on individual who can troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical problems across production equipment. The technician will be responsible for installing and repairing machinery and facility systems, managing spare parts inventory, and interpreting technical documents. Key duties include performing normal, start-up, and emergency shutdown procedures for plant utilities, replacing electrical components, executing safe rigging and lifting, and utilizing machine shop skills. The position also involves assisting with facility maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, and painting, supporting electricians, and communicating effectively with supervisors and teammates. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, maintaining a tidy workspace, and being available to support production needs as required.

Requirements

  • 5 years of related experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfort with basic computer tools for work orders and parts research.
  • Resourceful problem solver who moves from diagnosis to fix efficiently.
  • Clear communicator—written and spoken.
  • Independent operator who also values teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt down and resolve electrical and mechanical problems across production equipment.
  • Install and repair machinery and facility systems.
  • Oversee basic spare-parts storage and inventory.
  • Read and interpret prints, drawings, and schematics to plan effective solutions.
  • Disassemble, repair, reassemble, and validate machinery performance.
  • Run normal, start-up, and emergency shutdown procedures for plant utilities (generator, air compressor, cooling tower, chiller).
  • Replace defective electrical elements including switches and sockets.
  • Carry out safe rigging and lifting.
  • Leverage intermediate machine shop skills as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures—lock-out/tag-out every time.
  • Pitch in on facility work: carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
  • Back up electricians during peak or complex tasks.
  • Brief the Plant Engineer/Shift Supervisor on issues and handoffs each shift.
  • Keep the workspace tidy and organized.
  • Be available to support any segment of forming production when called upon.
  • Take on other tasks aligned with team priorities.
