Contingent Facilities Technician
About The Position
Honda Racing Corporation, USA, a leader in motorsports racing, is seeking motivated and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to join its Racing Program in Santa Clarita, California (North Los Angeles County) who will support the upkeep and operation of the facility. This role requires a proactive individual who is willing to take initiative, perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, and grow their knowledge in facility operations, safety, and compliance. Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and industrial conditions. May require working at heights, confined spaces, or around mechanical systems.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, HVAC systems, drywall repair, electrical systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with or willingness to learn Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience creating purchase orders and coordinating with vendors
- Exposure to facility compliance, safety standards, or regulatory requirements
- Basic understanding of hazardous material handling
- Willing to operate heavy equipment such as Forklifts, Aerial Lifts, Scissor lifts.
Nice To Haves
- Trade school or technical certification (a plus but not required)
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, drywall patching, painting and basic electrical work
- Coordinate preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
- Support facility upkeep including cleaning, repairs, and labor-intensive tasks such as furniture deployments
- Safely lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Create and manage purchase orders.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for larger repair or maintenance projects
- Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor and support facility operations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and system updates.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and government regulations
- Assist with handling and awareness of hazardous materials in accordance with guidelines
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Support emergency repairs and be available for overtime and weekend work as needed.
