About The Position

The Facilities Technician is assigned the responsibility for the site in regards to cleaning, minor maintenance, and grounds keeping, to make sure the production environment is in a suitable, compliant condition for Safe Food/Safe Feed – and/or FSSC certification to be maintained. This is an on-site role located in Fairmont, NE. Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Practical decision-making
  • General safety awareness and willingness to take direction on task completion
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently on various projects
  • Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and power-wash floors, walls, and equipment in process areas utilizing industrial equipment for larger projects.
  • Remove dust, corn and feed products from facility grounds, building floors and walls on all levels and in all areas of the facility, including atop silos.
  • Operate POET heavy equipment for maintenance and cleanup of process and grounds areas (skid steers, loaders, industrial vacuum equipment & other equipment as needed).
  • Aid in removing snow from sidewalks and roadways parking areas and spreading snow melting chemicals and sand.
  • General grounds maintenance may include; mowing and weed maintenance, chemical application, and grounds debris removal.
  • Identify and communicate equipment repair needs through POET’s maintenance workflow system
  • Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental and food safety compliance at all times
  • Maintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET’s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.
  • Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.
