About The Position

Seeking an experienced skilled Tradesperson to join the Facilities and Services team. This position performs a wide range of facilities services tasks including non-technical maintenance of facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, mason, and/or roofer. Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building facilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or higher degree.
  • Considerable physical activity. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
  • Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs carpentry, masonry, welding maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window, roof, cabinet and countertop replacement, door, hardware installation, masonry repairs and new installation of ceramic tile, cinder block, plaster, concrete, heavy equipment work as appropriate.
  • Inspects buildings, grounds and equipment to determine need for maintenance and repair and recommends the most economical way to make changes and improvements to superior; issues work requests to appropriate authority.
