About The Position

Responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the airports Electromechanical Systems including but not limited to Baggage Conveyor Systems, Passenger Boarding Bridges, Automatic Doors, Automatic Gates, Buildings, Plumbing Systems, Fire Protection Systems, Water Features, and Roofs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) years’ experience as an Electro-mechanical Technician at a large commercial or industrial facility; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of and exercise judgment and planning in selecting and using materials, tools, and equipment in industrial maintenance.
  • Must be capable of reasoning through problems involving simple and complex equipment.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and be capable of applying knowledge of written information, basic electrical wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, schematics, and electrical/mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and water-based fire protection systems.
  • Skilled in the maintenance and repair of plumbing systems.
  • Skilled in the maintenance and repair of 3-phase motors and motor control circuits.
  • Must be physically able to operate a forklift and aerial man lifts.
  • Must be able to operate vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission and those equipped with a manual transmission.
  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer is necessary, including skills in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
  • This position requires skills in prioritization, organization, verbal communication, and interpersonal relations.
  • May be required to complete an annual medical physical designed for the performance and requirements of the job.
  • Must illustrate the desire to continue training and upgrading knowledge needed to stay abreast of changing technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination as per Federal, State, and GSP Airport District requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Secondary education preferred (Associates Degree, Military or Job Training course in Industrial Maintenance).
  • Plumbing and Pipe Fitting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety programs and safety training, ensuring compliance with all company safety and environmental policies.
  • Maintain and repair restroom facilities, plumbing fixtures, and system piping.
  • Repair of various lighting systems.
  • Maintains and repairs passenger boarding bridges, baggage conveyor systems, doors, gates, water features, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on various electrotechnical systems to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintains the airport’s fire protection systems.
  • Assist other technicians when needed in general mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for clean-up of pre-assigned areas and workspaces.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal activities, as needed.
  • Perform other duties necessary to keep the airport operating safely and efficiently.
  • Responsible for setting an effective pace and minimizing interruptions in the completion of tasks.
  • Will be required to work without direct supervision effectively and safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.
