About The Position

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating. We do this every day across Dollywood Resorts which includes over 600 rooms and 15 Food & Beverage outlets, all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Our plan is to grow our resort footprint to over 1200 rooms across five resorts at Dollywood and to add other resorts to our overall company resort portfolio. We are seeking a Facilities Technician II who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand and our region. We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. This person is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while simultaneously ensuring the success and profitability of our unique culinary offerings. This person also brings a spirit of fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We are seeking an individual who has the ability to bring the vision of the Dollywood Resorts to life. The recipe for the right Facilities Technician II will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, mentor and motivator. The ideal candidate will monitor, operate, and maintain building equipment and structures. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two-year job-related experience
  • Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized trade or technical field
  • May require operating knowledge of manufacturing or computer equipment
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check including drug screen
  • Must display and live out Lead with Love qualities strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture by being patient, kind, humble, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest, and committed
  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees

  • Able to meet lifting requirements of 80 lbs
  • Able to accomplish basic repairs on HVAC, pool, and other machinery
  • Able to compile objective and measurable data and produce reports

Responsibilities

  • Maintains equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner
  • Performs assignments as directed by the Director of Facilities and Facilities Manager
  • Assumes the duties of other mechanics when required, including light carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, electrical, painting, pool and spa maintenance, etc
  • Performs regularly scheduled guest room preventative maintenance keeping the rooms product in “like new” condition and of the highest quality
  • Ensures exterior grounds are regularly maintained and free of debris
  • Ensures exterior water features are well maintained, free of algae and debris
  • Completes regular property tours and inspections, identifying and repairing defects
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Repairs all malfunctioning mechanic devices
  • Utilizes HOTSOS Work Order System regarding respond time repair request for carpentry, electrical and electronics, plumbing, HVAC, carpeting, and painting
  • Maintains pools and spas
  • Willing to acquire AFO Certification
  • Responds to guest room calls and assists guests with room issues
  • Is a specialist in a specific skill (Electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, etc.) Becoming a specialist in a skill is a prerequisite for promotion to Facilities Supervisor
