About The Position

The Facilities Technician II is accountable for performing basic and intermediate maintenance functions, for providing guidance to junior facility staff (Facilities Assistant II and Facilities Technician I) and for assisting senior staff with complex maintenance. The position is also accountable for maintaining a clean warehouse environment. This role involves conducting maintenance functions proactively and efficiently, performing installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs for buildings, building systems (e.g., lighting, electrical, plumbing), internal infrastructure (e.g., general furniture repairs and installations), and warehouse automated equipment. Additionally, the technician will assist senior staff with complex repairs, help develop the skills of junior facility staff, maintain a clean warehouse by dumping trash and sweeping, eliminate safety hazards by evaluating and repairing issues, maintain Electric Static Devices, and maintain warehouse shelving. The role also includes completing additional duties and projects as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to perform intermediate level maintenance functions independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read English and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and follow work instructions.
  • Effective English communication skills.
  • Basic computer navigation and typing skills.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and perform electrical and pneumatic repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to understand liquid measurements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, squat, reach, bend, and climb (e.g., ladders, lifts, etc.) on a regular basis for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move objects up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis using proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to work in high locations (e.g., roofs, on ladders, etc.).
  • Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in small or difficult spaces.
  • Ability to work unexpected shifts/hours due to business requirements.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, safe driving record and be insurable by company’s liability carrier.
  • Ability to use general mathematical skills (i.e., add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment (i.e., drill press, power saws, etc.).
  • Ability to pass an in-house examination and operate material handling equipment (e.g., carts, forklift, pallet jack rider, stock chaser, etc.).
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Two plus years of experience in warehouse automated equipment repair preferred.
