About The Position

This position assists facilities management with day-to-day operations of the department by participating in, performing, and documenting installation, maintenance, and repair of facility related equipment.

Requirements

  • A high school degree or equivalent is required.
  • 2 - 6 years of experience in a maintenance or related field and/or a combination of education and experience in troubleshooting and repair of facility infrastructure equipment is required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting skills, communicate effectively and work in a team-based environment.
  • A working knowledge of Building Standards and Regulations.
  • Flexible, capable of working in a demanding/challenging environment, and having a professional attitude with good communication and computer skills.
  • Understanding and conforming with the Health and Safety Policy to identify the significant risks that relate to actual or potential hazards with the work being performed.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems and carpentry is required.
  • Knowledge of the safe and effective use of power and hand tools.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, plumbing diagrams and troubleshoot electrical wiring, relays, motors is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of the following certificates or licenses would be a plus: Electrical License, HVAC, Class III or Universal Refrigeration Certificate.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated industry or ISO certified organization is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Routine/emergency interior and exterior concerns such as structural and maintenance tasks including but not limited to, general carpentry, painting, windows, doors, door hardware and wall repairs, plumbing and electrical concerns of varying degrees of difficulty plus building façade and grounds.
  • Support critical HVAC components with occasional filter changes and grease applications.
  • Navigation of CMMS, to open, address and plan execution of all assigned work requests, including materials, parts, training, and other requirements to ensure the facility is supported and the work is completed according to company policies and procedures, while ensuring that all work and documentation is executed completely, efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Support spare parts management including organization, tracking, and replenishment, and coordination with other departments and business functions as required.
  • Support housekeeping functions regarding waste collection, organization, tracking, and documentation.
  • Respond to plant wide hazardous and non-hazardous waste removals and spill cleanup and disposal.
  • Applying preventative measures, fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries reducing the risk of future issues throughout the building and grounds.
  • Respond to requests of equipment and office materials/content moves.
  • Responsible for supporting fire alarm and suppression systems maintenance.
  • Support, oversight, direct, and advise outside service providers performing facilities maintenance.
  • Identify and share original solutions to resolve challenging maintenance and break-down issues of the facility, targeting efficiency, effectiveness and improving timeliness.
