About The Position

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. The Role T1 Energy is looking to hire a Facilities Technician I which supports the operation, maintenance, and reliability of facility systems and equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an entry-level role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of military, industrial, or technical experience in one or more of the following: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, or controls
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn and use CMMS software for work order tracking and documentation
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with guidance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Frequent use of hands, tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders or aerial lifts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or automated production environment
  • Exposure to conveyor systems and material handling equipment
  • Basic welding or metal fabrication experience
  • Basic communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance
  • Troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical issues
  • Assisting with preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe and efficient plant operations
  • Monitor facility control systems to identify issues such as equipment faults, alarms, or jams
  • Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance activities across facility systems
  • Perform routine inspections (daily, weekly, monthly) of building systems including lighting, door dock, and general infrastructure
  • Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting, including identifying and replacing blown fuses and resolving simple AC circuit issues
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and general facility upkeep
  • Support basic fabrication tasks using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all safety standards
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols, including use of FTHA and Take 2 risk assessments for non-routine work
  • Perform operation, maintenance, testing, and basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using basic electrical and mechanical knowledge, escalating complex problems as needed
  • Restore equipment to operational conditions, including systems such as electrical distribution, air compressors, chillers, vacuum pumps, HVAC, and thermal processing equipment (e.g., RTO systems)
  • Accurately document maintenance activities and work orders within CMMS systems
  • Identify equipment or process issues and communicate them promptly to leadership
  • Safely work around automated and robotic systems, including basic fault clearing where trained
  • Support special projects and additional tasks as assigned by leadership
