About The Position

A Facilities Technician I is responsible for learning and assisting with the upkeep and repair of a facility's infrastructure and equipment, helping to ensure a safe and functional environment. This includes acquiring job skills to perform routine maintenance, following instructions to diagnose and fix problems, and working with other departments or contractors as needed. They are introduced to various company systems like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components, and begin developing a basic understanding of how these systems operate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to learn company policies and procedures to complete routine maintenance tasks.
  • Appropriate knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems sufficient to complete routine tasks with guidance.
  • Minimal facilities maintenance experience required; training will be provided to acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine, basic repairs and maintenance tasks related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, structural problems in buildings, and equipment under close supervision.
  • Assisting with HVAC maintenance and learning company procedures and practices.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and standards by following detailed instructions.
  • Maintaining accurate logs and records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and repairs as directed.
  • Working with and learning from other departments, contractors, or vendors to address more complex issues or complete specialized tasks.
