About The Position

The facilities team at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation acts as a safeguard for
the Foundation's physical assets and operational continuity. By proactively
managing facility systems, the role transforms maintenance from a reactive
expense into a strategic advantage that protects the bottom line. Our teams work
diligently to ensure that our spaces are safe, functional and properly
maintained for staff, guests, community and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Knowledge of electrical systems, generators, elevators.
• Skills in the use of electrical systems diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
• Demonstrated ability to install, repair, and maintain various electrical systems. Such as lighting fixtures and controls, breaker panels, elevators, backup generators, and emergency systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose repair problems using schematics, blueprints and manuals.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, and all weather conditions.
• Experience with or ability to learn BAS controls systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work using CMMS

Nice To Haves

• Education, training and/or certification in skilled trades would be helpful in this position.
• Experience working in a similar role, or as an electrician or technician would be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on electrical systems (elevators, generators) and general facility infrastructure (HVAC, plumbing).
• Ensures all work follows safety procedures and uses proper PPE.
• Diagnoses electrical failures using schematics and testing equipment.
• Handles system installations, wiring, and multi-trade repairs involving drywall, painting, and fixtures.
• Ensures all electrical work meets local, state, and national codes while strictly adhering to OSHA standards.
• Manages digital records via CMMS, tracking work orders, materials, and SPCC spending logs.
