About The Position

The Facilities Tech is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, buildings, and technical systems. This role also involves manufacturing and installing equipment, troubleshooting complex machinery with various components, and conducting maintenance and repair tasks. The position requires participation in the development of work instructions, delivering field reports, and communicating effectively with supervisors regarding safety, equipment, and productivity issues. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting and installing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems. The Facilities Tech must be cooperative with co-workers to maintain a good working environment and will be part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift
  • Must be able to be on call as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Install complex equipment and check it (ie mechanically, electrically, etc.) for correct function; adjust and/or rework as required.
  • Determine part requirements, provide parts and request part procurement.
  • Determine causes of defects/shutdowns in sometimes complex equipment with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc. components; use diagnostic systems as required.
  • Conduct difficult maintenance and repair tasks on complex technical equipment (ie. fixtures, machinery, instruments, etc.)
  • Conduct the installation and relocation of complex technical equipment (ie. tools, machinery, instruments, etc.)
  • Recognize and eliminate weak areas; cooperate in developing suggestions for eliminating weak areas.
  • Eliminate breakdowns in machines and fixtures.
  • Follow up and coordinate activities for efficient energy usage, lighting system, predictive maintenance, and lightning/grounding systems.
  • Participate in the development of work instructions and procedures for maintenance activities.
  • Develop and deliver on time field reports to supervisor.
  • Effectively communicate with the supervisor any problems with safety, equipment, and/or productivity.
  • Be cooperative with co-workers in order to maintain a good working environment.
  • Be on call rotation.
  • Troubleshoot and install electrical systems 120v, 208v, 277v, 480v single and 3 phase.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
  • Installation of and repair of plumbing systems rest rooms, threaded pipe, PVC, copper, etc.
  • Troubleshooting, repair, and install of doors, locks, windows, etc.
  • General building repair and install of sheet rock and precast walls, drop ceilings, PTO roof, all floor types.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
