About The Position

Be part of a growing facilities team to help ensure school buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, clean, and fully functional while supporting the mission of the school. This is a full-time hourly position that may require some flexibility.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work alone and as a team player, working successfully in collaboration with others to complete tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to use equipment within the facility to complete assigned tasks.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to cooperatively deal with various school personnel, students, vendors, and patrons.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback from supervisor and other school administrators.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Adaptable to varying work situations.
  • Must have demonstrated good attendance, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Take pride in the work performed.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with cleaning, upkeep, and repairing commercial facilities (preferred). However, on-the-job training would be available to the right candidate.
  • Position is very active and requires bending, crawling, climbing, crouching, kneeling, standing, stooping, and walking every day.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly (75% of the time).
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. periodically (10% of the time).
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Work with chemicals commonly used in cleaning and maintaining a commercial facility.
  • Ability and willingness to perform duties in adverse environments, both indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Support school staff and administration to provide a positive and encouraging environment for the development of students, ranging from daycare through 12th grade.
  • Keep the building and grounds safe, clean, and neat at all times.
  • Provide preventative and general maintenance. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. This includes but is not limited to maintenance tasks and minor repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization, including but not limited to maintaining all common areas, classrooms, offices, athletic areas, restrooms, and other areas to the highest standards.
  • Conduct daily or weekly walkthrough inspections of various buildings and grounds to identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, and needed repairs.
  • Work in cooperation with school administration and security staff to ensure buildings remain secured at all times as per school policies.
  • Set up, tear down, and support activities and events on campus.
  • Handle groundskeeping duties, including but not limited to outdoor tasks such as snow removal, salting of walk areas, exterior cleaning/trash pickup, mowing, trimming, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Fulfill all other work orders as requested and as directed by the school administration.
  • Fulfill all other tasks as assigned by the administration and management team.
