About The Position

Cates is looking for a dependable, hardworking Facilities Support Technician to help keep our manufacturing facilities running smoothly. This role involves supporting production, maintaining facilities, moving materials, stocking supplies, assisting multiple departments, and ensuring employees have the resources they need. The position offers variety every day and is crucial to the company's operations. The technician will support both Plano and Wylie facilities.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–3 years of warehouse, facilities, maintenance, manufacturing, or janitorial experience
• Forklift certification (or willingness to become certified)

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized production, warehouse, office, and common areas
• Empty trash, recycling, and remove cardboard, pallets, and scrap materials
• Sweep, mop, and maintain production floors, loading docks, and walkways
• Report maintenance or safety concerns
• Refill shop supplies, hardware bins, PPE, labels, tape, and production consumables
• Deliver tools, hardware, and materials to employees
• Help maintain organized supply stations
• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives
• Assist with receiving, stocking, staging, and moving materials
• Transport materials between departments
• Relocate shelving, workstations, and production equipment
• Help organize inventory locations and assist with cycle counts
• Assemble shelving, workstations, carts, and other equipment using hand and power tools
• Coordinate with outside contractors performing facility work
• Help schedule facility services and repairs
• Assist with office moves, special projects, and department support
