Requirements

  • Up to 1 year of Environmental Services, Maintenance, Facilities, or related experience.
  • Infection prevention and cleaning procedures.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance skills.
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read work orders and complete documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans, disinfects, and maintains areas, including furniture, equipment, hard floors, and carpets, in accordance with established environmental services and infection prevention procedures.
  • Collects and disposes of trash, manages linen distribution and inventory, and follows all required PPE, safety, and infection prevention standards.
  • Performs minor facility repairs and maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, repairing door hardware, installing wall-mounted items, completing paint touch-ups, and assembling or repairing furniture.
  • Completes basic plumbing and electrical tasks within the scope of training, such as addressing minor faucet or drain issues and replacing approved fixtures, while referring work requiring a licensed or skilled trade professional.
  • Conducts routine facility inspections, identifies safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance concerns, and promptly reports or documents issues requiring additional support.
  • Supports facility operations and emergency readiness, including office moves, furniture relocation, spill cleanup, emergency codes, and other activities necessary to maintain a clean, safe, functional, and welcoming environment.
