Facilities Support Tech
About The Position
The Facilities Support Tech provides timely and appropriate responses to alarms and emergency and non-emergency conditions, monitors critical systems, and supports effective communication across multiple facilities. The role monitors surveillance systems, parking gates, building automation, card access, elevator, and life safety alarms; dispatches assistance; maintains logs and reports; operates computers; answers multiple incoming phone lines; and initiates emergency and on-call communications, including accurate hospital paging. The position requires strong multitasking and communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, proficiency in monitoring technical systems and dispatching, and the ability to adapt to changing workloads and rotating shifts. The role is based within Penrose - St. Francis Health Services, which includes Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest in Colorado Springs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Multiline phone experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate centralized telephone and paging systems for multiple facilities.
- Answer incoming calls and determine the proper routing of calls for multiple facilities.
- Monitor Security, Fire Alarm, and Building Automation systems and determine the proper routing of urgent and nonurgent notifications.
- Develop and maintain communications logs and reports, including information from callers, dispatch records, and page communication status.
- Respond to inquiries from customers and staff regarding services, capabilities, responsibilities, and general information.
- Operate computer terminals and perform data entry in computerized and manual forms.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and panic, holdup, duress, and infant protection alarms.
- Monitor parking gates, card access alarms, elevator alarms, and life safety alarms.
- Dispatch help and initiate emergency and on-call communications.
