About The Position

Shalom Austin is seeking a Facilities Support staff with a primary focus on painting to join our Facilities team. This role is responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of our campus buildings through high-quality interior and exterior painting, wall repair, and surface preparation. Painting will make up the majority of this position’s responsibilities, including ongoing touch-ups, repainting high-traffic areas, repairing drywall, and maintaining consistent finishes throughout campus spaces. In addition to painting duties, this role will support the Facilities team with general maintenance and event setup responsibilities to ensure the campus operates smoothly for programs, events, staff, and community members. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys hands-on work, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Perform interior and exterior painting across campus buildings and facilities.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting including patching drywall, sanding, priming, and caulking.
  • Conduct routine touch-up painting in high-traffic areas such as hallways, classrooms, offices, and program spaces.
  • Repair minor wall damage including drywall patching, hole repair, and surface smoothing.
  • Ensure consistent paint colors and finishes across campus facilities.
  • Maintain painting tools, materials, ladders, and supplies in a safe and organized manner.
  • Coordinate painting projects with Facilities leadership to minimize disruption to programs and events.
  • Assist with small improvement projects that enhance the overall appearance of the campus.
