About The Position

This position is mainly responsible for building crates to ship product. Other responsibilities will include maintaining company facilities which may involve electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), moving material with a forklift and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in use of basic carpentry tools
• Able to read and understand basic instructions
• Ability to work with others, conflict free
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for long periods
• Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must have good attendance record
• Must have forklift experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to three years of relevant experience

• Actively participates in lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen Events and/or activities, RCCA, and Value Stream Analysis.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and positivity for improving processes and their work environment.
• Initiates improvement without the need for constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Use carpentry skills to construct crates and other projects as required
• Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested
• Maintain the building and grounds in a clean and orderly condition
• Clean snow and debris from sidewalks
• Exemplary and predictable attendance
