About The Position

Under general direction, supervises the operations of City’s occupied buildings, designated building complexes, armories and associated equipment at the City shop for the Fleet Services Department. As the Facilities Supervisor, you will: Coordinate, review and evaluate maintenance, cleaning and repair of City buildings, facilities, and infrastructure. Ensure facilities are clean, safe, secure and in compliance with state, federal and City standards. Plan and coordinate maintenance at various locations, trains staff in proper methods and procedures, inspects work for standards compliance and resolves maintenance problems. Select and assign staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion. Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work techniques. Oversee the Facilities On-Call schedule to ensure coverage or after-hours operations. Supervise, direct and oversee the daily activities of Facilities Staff. Evaluate and verify employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques. Develop plans, specifications and budgets for repairs, replacement and purchase of equipment, develop forecasts for materials and supplies, and maintain an inventory of equipment, tools and supplies. Identify staff development and training needs and ensure that training is obtained. Plan, organize, direct, and control work activity of the facilities management area as prescribed by professional standards; recommends and revises work procedures to meet service needs. Manage the City’s Public Auction for surplus of equipment and vehicles. Conduct inspections to ensure that assigned facilities are properly maintained. Estimate cost of materials and labor and coordinate work of outside contractors and vendor for repairs, maintenance and supplies. Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Facilities Management, Operations Management, Business/Public Administration, or Construction Management; and four (4) years of experience in facilities maintenance with two (2) of those years in a supervisory capacity; OR A High School Diploma or GED, and six (6) years of experience performing increasingly responsible facility maintenance or building trades experience with two (2) of those years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Arizona driver’s license at the time of appointment
  • Residency in the United States and within 25 miles of the City of San Luis.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check.
