About The Position

The Facilities Specialist at Bethany Children's Health Center is responsible for coordinating conference room setups with the Event Coordinator, ensuring timely and accurate arrangements. This role also encompasses general maintenance of the hospital building, including preventative electrical, climate control, and plumbing maintenance, as well as various handyman responsibilities. The specialist is expected to complete maintenance tasks with high quality, adhere to established standards and regulations, and foster a strong teamwork mentality to uphold the hospital’s standard of excellence in facility operations. Bethany Children’s Health Center, located in Bethany, Oklahoma, is an innovative leader in pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. Formerly The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, it is an ACHC accredited facility offering inpatient and outpatient services for children aged 0-21, and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. A CARF accredited multidisciplinary team collaborates with patients and families to maximize physical and cognitive potential, and to provide the necessary training and resources for a smooth transition from hospital to home. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of light maintenance and/or handyman work required
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training in electrical, climate control, plumbing and/or physical plant operations
  • 5+ years of commercial or healthcare experience
  • Journeyman License

Responsibilities

  • Assists and completes conference room set up work orders for scheduled reservations. Ensure table, chairs and other set up requests are complete prior to the reservation and assist with the breakdown of the room once the reservation has ended.
  • Assists with annual facilities inspections to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations
  • Documents general and preventative maintenance activities with precision for recordkeeping purposes
  • Prioritizes and completes assigned maintenance work orders with accuracy, safety, timeliness and follow up when applicable. Tasks include but are not limited to basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural maintenance and repair. This will also include coordinating outside services as needed and participating in regular on-call responsibilities.
