Facilities Specialist, Solar Cell Factory (Starlink)

About The Position

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Facilities Specialist to manage and coordinate multiple service contracts supporting maintenance of its facilities at the Solar Cell Factory. The role coordinates vendors and operational requests, helps ensure facility services meet SpaceX standards and schedules, and works with tradespeople, contractors, and building officials on repairs and maintenance. The position also coordinates furniture and fleet vehicle requests. The Solar Cell Factory supports SpaceX’s work to develop large-scale solar cell manufacturing capacity for reliable, high-efficiency solar power intended for orbital AI data centers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
At least 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, operations, or coordination.
Ability to work extended hours and weekends, and provide 24x7 on-call support in emergency situations.
Comfort managing several projects simultaneously and adjusting quickly when strategic priorities change.
Must meet applicable U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice To Haves

Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certification.
Experience organizing work with multiple trades.
Degree in architecture, engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
Organized and self-driven, with the ability to work independently with little direction.
Ability to drive continuous improvement through innovation and creativity.

Responsibilities

Manage, coordinate, and serve as liaison for service contracts, including janitorial services, DI water systems, pest control, fuel distribution, landscaping, and waste management.
Partner with Purchasing on requests for proposals and bid processes for service contracts.
Coordinate vendor operational schedules to keep SpaceX operations running.
Work with suppliers to improve efficiency in service delivery.
Ensure vendors meet SpaceX standards and deliver promised services, materials, and craftsmanship within agreed timeframes.
Manage operational requests and follow through on tasks requiring support from vendors engaged under ongoing service contracts.
Interact with tradespeople, contractors, and building officials to coordinate and execute facility and facilities-support-equipment maintenance and repairs.
Direct repairs of facility systems, including HVAC equipment, electrical systems, fire protection, water and plumbing infrastructure, paint, and groundskeeping.
Coordinate and facilitate furniture requests to align with site standards.
Manage fleet vehicle requests, insurance, tags, and maintenance.
