About The Position

The Facilities Services Worker is responsible for assisting MHA in its ministry goals by keeping the physical facilities clean, attractive and functional to ensure guest safety and satisfaction in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values. The Facilities Service Worker is a Ministerial Support position. Ministerial Support staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, it is expected that staff who fill these roles – no matter their personal beliefs - respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. Additionally, they are required to abide by MHA’s culture code and standards of conduct. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible centered teaching.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Minimum 1 year of custodial experience.
  • Basic mechanical experience and ability.
  • Must be observant, have an eye for detail, and not be hindered repetition of the work.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Should work well with others, or alone, and be able to receive and follow directions through to completion.
  • Ability to relate well with staff and guests is required.
  • Must have sufficient written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with staff and guests.
  • Ability to operate large vehicles and stick shift.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes.
  • Ability to produce documentation of a current and valid driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of facilities for camps and conferences to serve the needs of our campers and guest groups.
  • Clean facilities during events and camps and assist in fulfilling guest’s needs concerning the facility and accommodations in order to offer a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
  • Assist with periodic maintenance tasks, which may include carpet cleaning, window washing, pressure-washing walkways, hauling debris to dump, stocking fire wood, etc. to keep the facilities looking their best on an ongoing basis.
  • Report all maintenance and repair needs in writing to supervisor to ensure necessary repairs will be completed in a timely manner.
  • Follow all safety guidelines set forth by MHA as well as equipment and supply manufacturers to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report all safety hazards or unsafe practices to supervisor or appropriate department head to ensure the prevention of accidents and to preserve each individual’s health and safety.
  • Properly maintain all assigned tools, equipment and vehicles to ensure they are available when needed.
  • Other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
