Roofing Observers provide Quality Assurance (QA) observations that examine the application, alteration, or repair of commercial roof systems for conformance with project specific requirements. Roofing Observers make observations during the initial phase of construction and throughout the construction project to monitor conformance with project requirements. This position entails providing full-time roof observations at select projects in the general area. Projects may require up to 10 hours a day, 6 days a week on site weather permitting. Assignments may be several months in length though field work will typically be assigned as 4 weeks on, 1 week off. This work will be performed at roof deck elevations. Terracon will support provisions to provide a safe work environment including fall protection, hydration, and sun protection as appropriate. While some familiarity with commercial construction practices is preferred, Terracon will provide continuous support and training associated with commercial roofing installation to support your development. Successful performance of this role will facilitate obtaining a Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certification. Future opportunities in this role may include support of remote projects within Terracon’s service area. Job support including travel will include an appropriate per-diem and may be eligible for project-specific pay increases or bonuses. Typical roof systems observed in this role will predominantly be low slope, though some steep slope assemblies may be encountered. Observations are coordinated with our clients and contractors.
