We anticipate the need for a Facilities Serviceperson in the Facilities Services Department. This person will be located at 401 -414 Nicollet Campus. This position may require travel to other sites within the Metro West region. The working hours are 08:30 am to 7 : 00 pm . Alternate work schedules will be a (10) ten-hour workday, four (4) days per week while maintaining 5 days of coverage. Employees will be scheduled a day off work either Monday or Friday each week on a two (2) week rotation. The starting wage for this position $28.03. This position will be posted for 10 working days from May 14, 2026, to May 28, 2026.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally, written form and have computer skills to schedule work via facilities services work order request system.
  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be available for emergency call-out for overtime assignments.
  • Must have a working knowledge of hand tools and small handheld power tools.
  • Must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities from ladders, scaffolding and in high and confined areas.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds safely.
  • Will be required to obtain a forklift certification.
  • Must have two years of formal education in commercial building maintenance or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor building maintenance and repairs, furniture and furniture systems, grounds keeping duties, snow removal, some cleaning and sweeping, setting up conference rooms and audio/visual equipment, and changing light bulbs.
  • May require travel to other sites within the Metro West region.
  • Changing light bulbs, perform minor building maintenance and repair tasks, moving and repair of furniture and furniture systems, grounds keeping duties, dock operations, delivery duties and cleaning tasks.
  • Operate a power sweeper, snow blower, and lawn maintenance equipment.
