About The Position

As the Facility Security Officer (FSO), you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to support 24/7 deployed Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR), and Special Mission Aviation activities across the globe. You will enable hundreds of teammates to operate at more than a dozen secure locations worldwide. You will serve as a first line of defense for Operations Security (OPSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), and Industrial Security, ensuring teammates have the facilities, tactics, tools, and training required to operate in highly sensitive, classified, and compartmentalized environments. You will be responsible for enforcing applicable policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Special Security Agreement (SSA), Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 5200.01 Volumes 1-4, DoD 5220.22-M, DoD 8500.01, and other federal security regulations. This role performs tasks to ensure the authorized security posture is maintained. It implements and monitors security processes in accordance with NISPOM and Department of Defense (DoD) Information Security requirements, audits information system security plans and procedures, and ensures physical security of the site in accordance with company policies and local installation requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the NISPOM and applicable security directives.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with physical, personnel, and industrial security requirements, including verifying security clearances, access badging, managing open storage classified areas, navigating DISS, NBIS, NISS, and DIAS systems, and operating a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
  • Understanding of current security threat analysis, identification, mitigation, and investigation techniques, as well as OPSEC principles.
  • COMSEC account manager experience, including familiarity with DIAS.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize duties in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and electronically, with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in classified and unclassified environments while supporting both CONUS and OCONUS aviation operations.
  • Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at time of hire, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining procedures and plans in accordance with DoD, NISPOM, and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) directives. Coordinate with the Industrial Security Representative (ISR) when required for approvals and guidance.
  • Conduct assessments of physical, industrial, personnel, and operational security controls in accordance with established plans and procedures.
  • Examine potential physical security violations for breaches of policy or procedure; assess impact; preserve evidence; and report through appropriate channels as required.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of systems and facilities that process classified information.
  • Operate access control and alarm systems and respond to alarms as required.
  • Maintain visitor control logs and create and assign appropriate visitor badges.
  • Maintain and audit all logs and records associated with classified operations procedures.
  • Perform as Assistant Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager. Maintain 100% inventory through safeguarding, hand receipts, and Defense Information Systems for Security (DIAS) accounts. Report inventory and discrepancies to the National Security Agency (NSA) Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • Assist in originating, delivering, and documenting security briefings to program personnel, including ensuring each user signs acknowledgement of responsibility for security and completion of required training.
  • Maintain and manage cage code activities, including Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), and National Industrial Security System (NISS) accounts.
  • Assist with and support the Synchronized Pre-deployment and Operational Tracker (SPOT), Letter of Authorization (LOA), and Common Access Card (CAC) issuance.
